Timber Bay lodge offers family resort activities for everyone from playing on the water to hiking, biking and lawn games. Try out the shuffleboard, ping pong, and bocce ball. Nearby, our guests will find great championship golf, shopping, and dining and renowned attractions like the BWCA, International Wolf Center, and the North American Bear Center.
SportCourt – New for 2022!
Enjoy a variety of sports on our brand new Sport Court! Generally set up for PickleBall, but can be changed over quickly to Basketball, Badminton or Volleyball. There’s even a light so you can play in the evening after a day on the lake.
Swimming, Water Skiing, Canoeing, and Kayaking on Birch Lake
However you love to experience lake life, you’ll find our water activities second to none. Our fine-sand beach makes it enjoyable to swim or sunbathe and you’ll find it easy to take off in your canoe or kayak. The beach is safe for swimmers of all ages with a nice gradual walk into the water. Paddleboards are also now available for rent! Enjoy your inner peace with a paddle around the islands.
Some of the Best Fishing in Northern Minnesota
Sink a line for trophy Walleyes, Northern and Crappies along the many miles of unspoiled shoreline, rugged islands, and deep bays of beautiful 20-mile long Birch Lake. Activities Kids Will Love
Our full-time children’s activities director organizes nature and craft activities, picnics and hikes each weekday morning for children ages 5 to 12 leaving the parents free time to golf, fish, shop, or just plain relax.
Explore Nature in Northern Minnesota
There are great trails through the Superior National Forest just off the property that wind through the beautiful Norway Pine forest surrounding Timber Bay. Or explore the 20 miles of shoreline along the lakeshore.
See the Sites on Two Wheels
Bike the paved trails through the woods from Timber Bay to Babbitt or the public beach. Bicycles are available at the resort at no charge.
Strike a Competition in Our Game Room
To take a break from the sun or hide from the rain, our Trading Post features free ping-pong, pool, and foosball your teenagers will love.
